Biography
Neil’s widely varied career began way back in 1995, when he starred as a digestive biscuit in a West London shopping centre. Not the kind of Ealing comedy he had in mind! Oh the glamour!
Since then his career has thankfully been on an upward curve. In 2000 he appeared as Lt Reginald Harrison in the Oscar nominated Bollywood blockbuster “Lagaan”, starring Indian screen legend Aamir Khan. Small, (but perfectly formed) roles followed in subsequent years in TV shows such as, “White Teeth”, “Dream Team”, “Sorted” and “Bonkers”, featuring Lisa Tarbuck and Mark Addy.
Neil started to sing for his supper in 2001 at the Thomson Gold Coastline hotel in Malta’s Salina Bay, and since then has been in high demand performing in hotels and cruise liners throughout Europe and the world. Equally at home belting out classic hits, with his distinctive and powerful voice as he is delivering witty repartee and cracking gags aplenty from the squeaky to the cheeky; Neil is truly the all-inclusive cabaret package.
Neil is a true all-rounder and enjoys nothing more than a warm hand on his entrance in the double entendre ridden world of panto. Neil has brought life to a variety of roles from princes to paupers, since his debut at Boston’s Blackfriars Art Centre as an outrageously camp and evil Carrabosse in the classic “Sleeping Beauty”.
He showed his more cordial side as all-round good eggs Dandini in “Cinderella” and Alderman Fitzwarren in “Dick Whittington” but returned to villainous ways as the scheming Slimebag in “Mother Goose” and fearsome giant Blunderbore in the family favourite “Jack and the Beanstalk”.
There is more to Neil though than just song and laughter. Heart rending performances as Jimmy Raleigh in R.C Sheriffs harrowing WW1 tale “Journey’s End”, as Edmund in Thomas Hardy’s “Confessions of an Heiress” and as the analytical and calculating Juror 4 in the Reginald Rose courtroom classic “12 Angry Men” are among Neil’s many theatre credits.
On a more personal note; Neil is a keen sportsman, playing cricket and rugby union to a decent level and has the dubious privilege of being one of Tottenham Hotspurs long suffering fans! Also an enthusiastic, but somewhat wayward golfer, Neil plays off a handicap of no talent.
Despite all his travels Neil is a home bird deep down and knows he would never have got to where he is now without the wonderful support of his family and his “Guardian Angel” his beautiful wife Gabriela. Thanks for everything and here’s to a lifetime of laughter and love.
